Guneet Khakh

Physiotherapist and Pelvic Physiotherapist

Guneet Khakh completed her BSc in Kinesiology and her MSc in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She has experience treating patients of all ages in various clinical settings. Her interests include orthopedics and pelvic health and has achieved her Level 1: The Physical Therapy Approach to Anyone Experiencing Urinary Incontinence.

Guneet believes in using a holistic, whole-body approach to physiotherapy that is research informed to ensure her patients are well equipped to manage their symptoms and to help them get back to the activities they love.

She loves traveling, being outdoors, and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants. Away from the clinic, you can find Guneet hiking, baking, and watching sit-coms. She has always had a passion for health and wellness and looks forward to meeting you and supporting you in your healthcare!

 
 

Dorota Kuza

Physiotherapist and Pelvic Physiotherapist

Dorota Kuza graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow, Poland and she holds a Master of Sciences in Physiotherapy.

She completed a post-degree specialization in Physical Rehabilitation in a hospital setting and has practiced in her field for over 20 years.

She is an accredited practitioner in Canada, committed to ongoing clinical education. She has completed a post-graduate advanced training in Manual Therapy, Acupuncture, Pelvic Floor assessment and treatment, Visceral Manipulation, and fascial mobilization.

She has experience with assessing patients of all ages and extensive experience in the paediatric field.

She creates individualized treatment plans for each patient, providing the highest quality of care with a goal to provide effective intervention.

She is interested in promoting a healthy lifestyle and emphasizes patient education and self-management in her treatment plans.

Outside of work, she stays active skiing, biking and running. She also loves exotic adventure trips.

Lisa Parikh

Physiotherapist

Lisa is a Registered Physiotherapist and graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2004 from McMaster University.

During her time at McMaster Lisa had the opportunity to obtain experience in a variety of outpatient and hospital clinics including a Northern Studies clinical rotation in Geraldton, Ontario.

Lisa believes in always striving to find the source of her patient’s pain and treating the dysfunction, not only the symptoms.

In order to achieve this goal, she has taken more than 18 courses on advanced manual therapy techniques, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, neurokinetic therapy, SFMA and muscle retraining.

She focuses on a holistic approach and ensures after a thorough assessment, she will develop a patient centred treatment plan involving manual therapy, exercises and education to prevent re-injury.

Lisa has also been a preceptor for training physiotherapy assistant students, kinesiologists and resident physiotherapists.

After spending a year living in New Zealand, she has a great appreciation for the outdoors and enjoys rock climbing and biking. When Lisa is not working, she is busy being a mom, participating in a variety of outdoor activities, and working out.

Sumita Lama

Resident Physiotherapist

Sumita Lama completed her Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from Rajiv Gandhi University, India followed by extensive training and a Master's degree in Public health from Torrens University, Sydney, Australia. She brings a wealth of experience in treating patients of all ages across a range of clinical environments.

With a keen focus on orthopaedics, Sumita has honed her skills to address a variety of conditions, including injuries and rehabilitation. She is proud to have achieved Level 1 certification in NeuroKinetic Therapy demonstrating her commitment to providing comprehensive care.

Sumita is a firm believer in adopting a holistic, evidence-based approach to physiotherapy. She integrates the latest research findings into her practice, ensuring her patients receive the most effective and up-to-date treatments. Her goal is not only to alleviate symptoms but also to empower her patients with the knowledge and tools they need to manage their conditions and return to their favourite activities.

Outside of the clinic, Sumita is an avid traveller who enjoys exploring new places and hiking. When she's not on the move, you can find her indulging in her passion for photography or unwinding with a good book and gardening.

With her unwavering dedication to health and wellness, Sumita is excited to meet you and support you on your journey to optimal health.

 
 

Sherry Knight

Athletic Therapist

Sherry holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario graduating with Distinction and a Bachelors of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) graduating as the Silver Medalist with High Honours from Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. She also graduated with a diploma in Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology.

Sherry is a Registered Kinesiologist, Registered Massage Therapist, and Certified Athletic Therapist. She is also a Red Cross designated First Responder. Sherry is also a Course Instructor and Clinician Supervisor for Massage Therapy Students at the Ontario College of Health and Technology. She is a member of the Program Advisory Committee for Sheridan College's Bachelors of Applied Health Sciences Athletic Therapy Program.

She has worked with many amateur and professional sports teams/athletes and at several major games, including the PAN AM games hosted by Toronto in 2015. She has been working in the industry since 2004 and has spent thousands of hours attending continuing education courses to increase her knowledge in the area of musculoskeletal conditions.

Using a holistic approach, she assesses issues in your whole body that could be contributing to your specific area of injury or discomfort and uses hands-on skills such as Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Fascial Release, SFMA, and Neurokinetic Therapy to address these concerns.

No program of healing is complete without tasks for you to perform at home. Sherry will always provide an informative and comprehensive exercise program, intended to speed recovery and prevent further future injuries.

When not at work or taking continuing education courses, Sherry likes to run, read, and cuddle with her two beautiful daughters!

Dr. Nora Ovtcharova

Licensed Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Nora Ovtcharova is a licensed naturopathic doctor with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). She received her degree in 2015 attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto after completing her Honours Bachelor of Science at McMaster University, where she also engaged in research endeavors. Dr. Nora ND co-founded the Toronto Metabolic Clinic and Don Valley Integrative Digestive Clinic in Toronto. She has extensive experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams of medical doctors, dietitians, osteopaths, and nutritionists. She has successfully implemented the approach of intermittent fasting and dietary coaching to reverse diabetes and address other metabolic disorders such as PCOS, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, obesity, and fatty liver. Dr. Nora ND has prior work experience with a physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic in Toronto, focusing on mitigating inflammation contributing to pain, improving nutritional balance for optimal healing of injuries, improving circulation for tissue repair through various means including acupuncture, hydrotherapy, dietary recommendations, time-restricted eating, and nutritional supplementation.

Dr. Nora ND strongly believes in empowering people to make a positive life-long impact on their health, always striving to address the root cause of illness, while honoring each individual's unique and diverse experience. Aside from the time spent in the clinic, she keeps a life balance by staying outdoors biking, hiking, snowboarding, and traveling especially when it is combined with her passion for helping people. She has organized a medical brigade and worked as a medical volunteer in remote villages in Haiti and Nicaragua, where she treated patients with minimal access to healthcare.

 
 

Kelly Vali

Certified Yoga Instructor

Kelly has been practicing yoga for over 8 years. The first class she walked into was hot power yoga. Knowing nothing about yoga she felt totally lost but was instantly hooked. What started out as a way to exercise, transformed over time into something much deeper. 

Kelly completed her 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training certification in March 2022 through YogaShala in Waterdown, under the guidance of Barb Leese. She is Registered with Yoga Alliance and has continued to further her yoga education taking courses in Fascial Yin (40 hours), Trauma Informed Yoga, and Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga Teacher Training. She is always reading, taking webinars, and expanding her knowledge of yoga philosophy, asana (poses), and pranayama (breath work) to incorporate into her classes.

Yoga is for everyone and everybody and Kelly creates an inclusive environment where her students can appreciate what their body is capable of through mindful movements and breath. 

Off the mat, you can find Kelly on her paddleboard in the Kawarthas, snuggling up with a good book or baking and trying out new recipes.
