Sherry

Sherry

Sherry is a Registered Kinesiologist and Certified Athletic Therapist. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Honours in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario with Distinction and a Bachelors of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) degree with High Honours from Sheridan College.  In 2012, Sherry embarked on the role of owner of Quality Care Sports Injury & Rehab Inc.

Sherry has worked directly with several teams at the high school and university levels, including football, rugby, hockey, volleyball and basketball and has clinical experience in private practice settings.  She has provided medical coverage for such events as National Wrestling Tournament, U18 National Women’s Hockey Championships, U20 National Speed Skating Championships and U14 National Tennis Championships, and continues to volunteer time at various marathons, like the Mississauga Marathon.

Sherry has done professional development courses in Craniosacral and other osteopathic techniques, Myofascial Release, Moblization of the Nervous System, Office Ergonomics, Muscle Energy Techniques and has practical experience with techniques such as Strain Counter Strain, and Visceral Mobilizations, as well as various other Soft Tissue release skills.  She is a Level 2 Certified in Functional Movement Screening and maintains her valid First Responder and HCP-CPR certification.

In her spare time, you will find her hiking on the Bruce Trail or engrossed in a good book.

Yasmin

Yasmin

Yasmin is a Registered Physiotherapist. She holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from University Latina de Panama where she graduated with honours. In 2016 Yasmin became an owner at Quality Care Sports Injury & Rehab.

During her time at McMaster University Yasmin had the opportunity to work in various orthopaedic, and hospital rehabilitation settings.

Yasmin has completed professional development courses in soft tissue release, fascial mobilization, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, neurokinetic therapy in addition to various other manual therapy workshops. Yasmin continues to take professional development courses to further her physiotherapy skills.

Yasmin believes that one individuals needs vary from another, and each case is different. Apart from assessing only the physical injury/dysfunction, she believes it is of equal importance to listen to her client and provide a treatment plan that is focused on helping her clients reach their goals and optimize the results.

Yasmin is fluent in both English and Spanish.

In her spare time Yasmin enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Lisa

Lisa

Lisa holds a Hon. Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto and a Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. During her time at McMaster Lisa had the opportunity to obtain experience in a variety of outpatient and hospital clinics including a Northern Studies clinical rotation in Geraldton, Ontario. Lisa believes in always striving to find the source of her patient’s pain and treating the dysfunction, not only the symptoms. In order to achieve this goal, she has taken more than 15 courses on advanced manual therapy techniques, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, neurokinetic therapy and muscle retraining. She focuses on a holistic approach and ensures after a thorough assessment, she will develop a patient centered treatment plan involving manual therapy, exercises and education to prevent re-injury. Lisa has also been a preceptor for training physiotherapy assistant students, kinesiologists and resident physiotherapists. After spending a year living in New Zealand, she has a great appreciation for the outdoors and keeps busy with her two daughters.

Kristin

Kristin

Kristin is a Registered Kinesiologist, Certified Athletic Therapist, Registered Massage Therapist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Kristin holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario as well as a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Athletic Therapy) degree with High Honours from Sheridan College.

Following certification, Kristin pursued her Master’s degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine at the University of Florida. At UF, Kristin was an Athletic Training Graduate Assistant for the Department of Recreational Sports, where she was responsible for on-field emergency care for the Intramural and Club Sports programs. During her last year, she had a clinical apprenticeship with the UF NCAA Track and Field Team, where she assisted with the athletes’ injury management.

Since completion of her Master’s, Kristin has continued to take courses such as Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, Neurokinetic Therapy, Cranial Techniques, Soft Tissue Release, Rehabilitation of the Mid-Cervical Spine and Building the Ultimate Back to improve and further develop her skills as a therapist. Most recently, she obtained her Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology.

Kristin also teaches Injury Management and Applied Anatomy at Humber College in the Fitness and Health promotion program.

Kristin enjoys promoting healthy lifestyles through injury prevention and rehabilitation, core stability training, and strength and conditioning practices.

Jason

Jason

Jason is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapist’s Association of Ontario (CMTO). His passion for massage therapy stems from working with people and the fascination of the human body. His journey into the world of natural healing began when he was recovering from his own personal injuries. During those Massage Therapy treatments he realized the power and potential of this profession, which sparked his passion and in turn his commitment to his clients today. He is experienced in treating all ranges of clients in different stages of healing. He is competent in Swedish techniques of massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, pre and post-natal massage, sports injury treatment, and treating every day aches and pains from headaches to overall muscular tension. He is committed to continue to learn and grow in the massage profession. He is also a Registered Personal Trainer (PTS) with Canfit Pro and he has dedicated most of his life to helping others achieve their personal wellness and life goals. He has spent his life competing in high level athletics and is personally committed to living a healthy life style through nutrition and physical fitness.

 

Raphael

Raphael

Raphael graduated from McMaster University with an Honors Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree and from Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. His has been exposed to diverse clinical settings ranging from private practice, sports clinics, and hospital care, learning how to successfully treat chronic and acute conditions including work-related and sport musculoskeletal injuries. His treatment philosophy includes using manual therapy to restore joint mechanics followed by muscle retraining and motor control strategies to correct movement dysfunction. Raphael provides individualized, one-on- one treatment and develops exercise programs geared toward the level and goals of the patient. He is excited to meet you and lead you towards a stronger healthier you!

Sandra

Sandra holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto and is a long time resident of Oakville. She is happy to join us after a successful 20 year career in Outside Sales. Sandra lives with her husband and their dog Simon and in her free time she enjoys walking Simon, cooking, spending time with friends, and visiting her family in Texas. Sandra has been a long time client of Quality Care and has a passion for skiing, rollerblading and was once an avid soccer player. She looks forward to welcoming you with a big smile when you arrive at Quality Care!

Wendy

Wendy

Both Wendy and her husband of 21 years are lifelong residents of Oakville. Wendy comes from a family of medical professionals, dating as far back as 1929. Her grandfather moved to Oakville, and started his medical practice, which was then taken on by her father, who practiced for over 35 years. As well as bringing up three children (two sons and a daughter), Wendy keeps busy by helping out with committees such as the Parent Council at her children's' school, May Court, and the Oakville Hospital Committee. Wendy looks forward to being a part of the Quality Care team and meeting new and old faces!

Tina

Tina

Tina grew up in downtown Toronto. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto. After graduating she worked in the insurance business for over 10 years until she moved to Oakville with her husband to raise a family. Growing up in a traditional Italian household, Tina loves to cook and try out new baking recipes. In her free time she also loves to go to the theatre, garden, and go for long walks by the lake. She is excited to be part of the Quality Care family and meet all of the QC clients!
